Michael: Thanks for the response. My machine is in for service and I am on vacation right now so I can't try your suggestions, but I will. Step one sounded like the one I need. Just worried that I will erase the existing dictionary and not be able to replace it. The hardware is 20+ yrs. old and the software is probably 10. I guess I need some encouragement that I will not blow up the world. Step two sounds unfamiliar and more involved, but I thank you very much for the info and I will get back to you again sometime after Thanksgiving when I get back home. Jerry

Hi Jerry,
How did you get your dictionary on the floppy disks in the first place?

Hi Michael: The dictionary can be backed up to disks from the PP backup program. As I said it's been a long, long time but I believe the problem became a problem when Premier Power was no longer supported and Case Catalyst came along and I recall something about needing a link to do the task in PP. Unfortunately that's as far as I can recall on the sequence of events because I haven't used it in so long. I can live without it (and have for all these years) but having an updated dictionary on the Stentura would be a good thing. Jerry P.S. Could you reply to jerreea@hotmail.com Thanks

Hi Jerry, Ok, you can not backup the dictionary in PP and restore it on your Stentura. From the Transcribe menu, press Enter on Stentura 8000, and then press Enter on Send Dictionary. That program will allow you to create a dictionary for your Stentura. If it tells you the program in unavailable, you may need the Stentura 8000 Dictionary Transfer program from here: www.stenograph.com/pages.aspx?docid=209&id=It can be loaded through Load Updates in Premier Power. Then follow the procedure above.
