After having installed Case Catalyst version 7, somehow I cannot see the com port in the translate and edit options. Thus, I cannot edit. I had Case Catalyst installed professionally for my first 2 laptops. I decided to do the third one on my own. Everything went fine until it came to "Translate and edit." What am I missing? Thank you.

Hi rina, Are you using a Serial Adapter? If so, you must make sure it is properly installed. It should show up in your Device Manager and give its Com port # in (parenthesis). To see if you have a working serial port installed, go to the FAQ section of our website: jmsteno.com/faq.htmClick on Computer General and then How to determine Com port #. Download/review the HT10600002. You should have at least one serial port entry under Ports (Com & LPT). If you do, note down the Com# it took. Then go into Case CATalyst, Translate & Edit, Options, Input and set the correct writer and Com# you noted earlier. If you do not see anything under Ports (Com & LPT), then you either do not have a serial port installed or do not have it installed correctly.
