Hi, Michael
I dug out my Merit Writer to do some work here at home and I have some questions. It's been so long since I used it that I don't remember the numbers and what they mean on the display screen.
I reformated the disk and then I get: EE:11. What does that mean? I've reset, reformatted and that keeps coming up.
Thanks for your help. SueLynn

Hello SueLynn, The Merit Writer Error 11 means that it cannot read the disk you are using. The most common cause of this is you are using HIGH-DENSITY disks and the Merit Writer will only accept DOUBLE-DENSITY disks. Make sure you are using the correct disk type. We do have DOUBLE-DENSITY disks available on our shopping cart located at www.jmsteno.com/vindex.htm. Hope that helps. If you are using the correct disks, and you have tried more than one, then you might need the disk drive on your writer checked out. You can arrange to have that serviced with us by dropping an e-mail to writers@jmsteno.com or calling us toll-free at (877) 956-5198.
