Hey, I have procat 4.2 on a windows 98 se os. when I edit a file in procat, then go directly to print (Alt-H), i get a windows error window that say elite just performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. however, if, after I edit a file, exit out then go back in to print it or just get to print it by "PPP" it will print. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the trouble is?
Lost and confused,
Gordy

Hi Gordy,
Sorry about the late response, I've been out of the office on vacation.
As for the printing trouble you are having, have you always had this problem or did it just recently arrise?
If it just now arose, did you purchase a new printer?
And if the problem has always been there, you can try setting the printer to print directly without spooling first.
If you only print in ProCAT, then I would remove the printer from the Windows Printers folder, as I don't believe your version of ProCAT requires it be installed. This will stop any conflicts between printing from DOS-Based programs and Windows (which was a common error with DOS programs being run under Windows).
Hope that helps.
