Hello, I'm new to this so please bear with me. I am a computer consultant and have a client using Xscribe 2001. They had problems with the software and asked me to take a look at it. I reinstalled the software on their DOS based laptop and am getting the following error when I run it. "Programming error. Program must be terminated. Report this error to the developer." I have QEMM and the key installed. I was told that the system did work at one time on this laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Hi Mike,
A few questions:
What version of DOS or Windows is on this computer? What steps did you take to perform the install? What lines are in your config.sys/autoexec.bat files? Where are you encountering this error?
Xscribe 2001 was one of the hardest systems to get to work properly, however if it worked before it stands to reason that it should still work now (unless memory or HD have become corrupt).

I get the errors when I select EDIT - any of the selections Dictionary - when I hit the esc key
The system also locks up at random In short nothing really works Mike

Hi Mike,
Try these settings:
[Config.sys] device=c:\qemm\qemm386.sys ram be:n frame=c000 x=d400-dfff dos=high files=20 buffers=15
If you still have trouble with that, you might need to adjust some PIF files in DesqView. If you need help adjusting the PIF's, we do require a call to tech support 1.800.956.5198.

2001 WILL NOT PRINT OR MAKE ASCII FILES. GET THE ERROR MESSAGE "MENUPM_. (1) ERROR IN MF-ROWRPL." HOW CAN I GET THE PRINTER AND ASCII FUNCTIONS TO WORK? THANK YOU.

Hi Robert
Try to switch the printer to a few others and see if that allows Print and Create ASCII to function correctly again.
