Is there a way to get version 3 of the software to work within a windows xp or windows 98 environment?

Case CATalyst 3 should work fine in a Windows 98 environment.
As for working on Windows XP, you will need to upgrade to version 3.2 of the software.
Note that I have had several people tell me they have run into problems with the version 3.2 (e.g. program closes itself down intermittently).
Hope that helps.

I am currenlty on CAT 4, but I worked on CAT 3 in Windows XP until 2004. I also suffered intermittent shutdowns until I installed the New EZ Keys patch for Windows 2000/XP on October 14, 2003. After that it worked as well for me as when I originally used it in Windows 98. Unfortunately, Stenograph did not send this patch to me even though I was on a support contract. I had to call and complain about the problem, and that's when they e-mailed the file to me. Stenograph is discontinuing support for CAT 3 after June of 2004, so the patch will probably be "unavailable" after that time. I still have the file and can e-mail it if Stenograph will not do so.

Hello LBJ,
I do have some customers on Case CATalyst that simply do not wish to upgrade to Cat4. Do you have any contact information I can give to them in case they need the file? Thank you in advance.

Hello reece110, Unfortunately I never did hear back from LBJ regarding the EZ Keys patch. Since Stenograph designed the patch, it could also be crossing some legal bounds to send/receive the file to/from someone, since it is more than likely their intellectual property. I did check Stenograph's website to find any downloads but did not see anything regarding the EZ Keys. I did find some articles regarding EZ Keys however here: support.stenograph.com/ftp/helpdesk/cc/3x/NoEZUpdate.htmlPerhaps redoing any EZ Keys you have could solve the problem you are experiencing. Here is another article regarding Toshiba notebooks with Windows XP that you should look at: support.stenograph.com/ftp/helpdesk/cc/3x/tosh6100help1.html*Note* All article links came from the Stenograph help desk which can be viewed by anyone. To reach there directly, go to www.stenograph.com Click on Support. Then on Help Desk. If you find a solution to your problem, please post with the rest of the community since it does not appear that the EZ Keys patch will be available anymore.
